Re: Mourinhooo
Mourinho did better than 'get Spurs to a final'. That usually implies he then lost it. In fact at Spurs he was 'in the League Cup Final not out', since the idiot Levy fired him a week before he had the chance to win the thing.

Re: Mourinhooo
can someone tell me why everyone is against this ? won numerous trophies at a terrible man united side , got spurs to second and a final , won roma a cup and decent in the league , we are literally shit we could only get better, ten times the manager pelligrini is , proven winner , aint gonna take shit. its normally the media pressure when he ends up getting sacked , he is not going to have that pressure here , the only way is up and would attract big players

I’ve seen the pic and it’s obvious that Mourinho is showing us his watch and bracelet…

Re: Mourinhooo
Pentonville that’s the one. Love how he stirs the pot.

Long term we all know it would be a disaster, it would end in tears and he is a little bit of busted flush but I’d be confident he’d win us the ECL, keep us up and although not the attacking coach I’d like - it would be interesting again for 18 months.

He apparently likes living in London and the vanity of possibly winning us our first decent trophy in 43 years massively appeals to his ego.

Won’t happen, be fun for a bit if it did.

"He's also a horrendous cunt of a human being"

based upon what? arrogant maybe but he's earned the right to be.

away from football he seems like a decent fella with a sense of humour.

Mourinho's football will be more boring than that of Moyes. Now I've heard it all.

Griffin, our posts crossed but fair play, I forgot about that Madrid record

Oh well, a pleasant enough wistful tangent but I can't see him coming so it's back to the real world of Moyes, with all the delight that brings

Crassus 9:54 Thu Mar 9
Re: Mourinhooo
In my view there is absolutely no chance of the bloke coming
But, hypothetically, he would be ideal for where we are now. Clearly short term, but to use a modern phrase, a disrupter, he would run through the club like a knife through butter challenging all and everything
Sure his style is on the pragmatic side when operating with limited players, but don't forget he had a Chelsea side that set a new scoring record in the PL
Add that he is an indisputable winner, I would accept winning pragmatism with his candor and bluster
He would also represent the best chance of silverware since the 80's whilst elevating the WH 'brand' for his successor and player acquisition
Being what he is, I can see him having a real understanding and empathy with the fanbase too, he would get us and play to it
As I said, not happening but would be something having the bastard as our bastard

Re: Mourinhooo
better than Moyes, and has actually achieved something that warrants him being an arsehole.

But, read something a year or so back about his success before and after the prevalence of social media among footballers. He specialised in creating a siege mentality, always 'us versus everyone else' - as footballers became more accessible and took on other interests (everyone's a fucking politician these days) he struggled to create that same mentality as became obvious that it wasn't them aainst the world, and his success waned a little, leading to a lot of publuc run-ins with players.

You'd obviously still take him, but not sure more negativity is what this group needs. They've had it for long enough.
Fwiw, the stuff on playing style is largely bollocks. His Real Madrid team still hold the record for goals scored in a single season in La Liga - 121 - at a time when everyone was wanking themselves silly about 'Pep' and 'Barca'. He cuts his cloth accordingly.

Re: Mourinhooo
A good manager as his CV suggests, but wouldn't be a good fit for us imo. He comes with baggage and it would only end one way, plus he's a pragmatic type of coach. We need to find the new Mourinho, not this worn out one with issues and grudges left, right and centre.

Re: Mourinhooo
He'd be a Manuel Pellegrini mk2 trying to play in a style that the players aren't good enough to emulate.

What style of football is tgat?

the exile wrote…

Busted flush.

4th in Serie A, won the conference league last season.

Apart from his first spell at Chelsea he came back & won the league, finished 2nd with a rubbish united team and got spurs to the league cup final.
